Your tree…

Click on the links below to find out more about how you can take part in the Lincolnshire Recognition tree planting programme. If you choose 'A Tree for Me', you can also register to be part of NHS Woodland Lincolnshire and we urge you to do so.

And don't forget to share your COVID-19 pandemic story here

For those who have a space in mind to plant their own sapling, we are offering ‘A Tree for Me’.

Many of those who have already chosen 'A Tree for Me' will be planting their sapling in honour of a loved one, patients they have supported or the colleagues they have worked alongside during the pandemic.

There are three trees, indigenous to the UK, to choose from – the Crab Apple, Wild Cherry and Dogwood Tree. These have been selected in collaboration with The Woodland Trust to support natural wildlife and provide sustainable tree coverage to Lincolnshire.

The trees will come as a small sapling – all you will need is space, soil and water.

Collecting your sapling

You can collect your chosen sapling at one of the two additional collection events we are running due to demand.

Here are the event details:

Lincoln: Wed 18 May, 11am - 2pm – Lincoln County Hospital, Social Club car park, St Anne's Rd, Lincoln LN2 5RA

Boston: Thu 19 May, 11am - 2pm – Pilgrim Hospital - grassed area adjacent to the Pilgrim Restaurant, PE21 9QS

Each of these sapling collection events will run between 11am and 2pm.

When you register for your sapling on this website, you will need to select which of these events you wish to attend.

For everyone to enjoy, and particularly those without space to plant a tree, we are working with Lincolnshire’s Woodland Trust charity to develop NHS Woodland Lincolnshire, in support of our collective ambition to look after and protect our county, now and in the future.

The NHS Woodland Lincolnshire is not a single place, but a number of locations across the county, where we will be planting trees throughout 2022 to commemorate Lincolnshire’s NHS team, who worked so hard to protect the people of the county during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You and your Lincolnshire NHS colleagues will be honoured through these planting schemes, and we encourage you to register your story and the part you played here so that your legacy can be recorded and shared.
